I beyond love the art of thrifting (yes it's an art, an unnecessary one, but an art just the same). Therefore, since I beyond love thrifting, I decided I would make it a consistent part of my blog. Et so voila - Thrifting Thursdays. I go thrifting about once a month because, personally, I not only think it's good for the pocket book, but also good for the soul. The reason I go on Thursdays is because the awesome Goodwill here in Edmonton replenishes on Thursdays every week, and although I only go once a month, due to this, Thursday is the day I go. You can find so many great things when perusing thrift stores, so many great little treasures that one may or may not need, but in the end, they are still treasures at a bargain. Thrifting is my own little kind of retail therapy. I figure if one needs retail therapy then the best and most affordable place that one could get it is at a thrift store. Or Dollarama, which I also love. Of course I set a budget. Thirty dollars a month is all I allow myself to spend and even then I often don't spend that much when I go. Since I'm only just getting caught up on my blogging, these are my finds from last Thursday's thrifting experience. I went first thing in the morning before my meetings and appointments for the day and I got all of these little gems for a grand total of $21.85. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. I realize there are more important places this money could be spent but I also figure that money that I am spending at Goodwill is going to, well, Goodwill and that math works to me. Also, these are all things that one could purchase at regular retail price if one were so inclined to do so, I just think it is more practical and fun to purchase them at Goodwill and other such excellent thrift stores. Believe it or not, it is such a rush when you find that great whatever at such a great deal!
Because I believe that being in the presence of fresh flowers is a wonderful thing, I found this sweet little vintage flower vase now completed with favourite yellow roses.
Books books books!!! A few vintage cookbooks, a practically new cookbook, a card making book, a Pilates book and my favourite - a Thesaurus.
Yay for legwarmers! These babies still had the actual price tag on them!
Adorable clip on vintage pearl bauble earrings - so lovely.
A huge glass paperweight that looks like a giant diamond. Mainly purchased because it makes me feel like I could have been an awesome pirate in another life.
A brand new box set of blank cards with a sweet butterfly print and two favourite DVD's
