I've been busy and neglected my poor little blog. That is the thing. I dislike ever so much when life gets this particular kind of busy when I haven't simply got the time to do anything that I actually love putting my time and energy into. Like blogging, writing, dancing, singing, wandering, rambling, photographing, painting, sewing, loving...to name a few. Instead, I've been busy with things that I don't particularly love but rather am obligated to do, that we all are often obligated to do. Clearly I am not alone in this. Blerging work being the largest part of that last yar yar "obligated to do" statement. Zurks. Zurks indeed. Why is it that you can do something that you don't necessarily love (read possibly want to poop on) and it can somehow last out hours that seem literally daysndays. And yet, when doing something you love and/or enjoy, that time feels like it is there and gone as a bit of dust that flies right off your hand, never to be seen again. Gone all too quickly and usually without your full knowledge of where it has gone. Poor little bit of dust. However, in attempting to look at the bright side of things, I have to believe that little bit of dust is dancing on soft breezes, as is the time that passes all too quickly...its beautiful memories dancing about in my mind. Ah time, you enrapture, enchant, evade and escape and all at the same time, you sly thing.
In any event, this is me attempting to catch thee up. As opposed to the thing being that I've had no time to post due to insane amounts of work, this past weekend was crazy lovely and an exception to the main reason for lack of blogging. It was fantastically tiring! Opera rehearsals, nearly midnight pizza at Park Allen Restaurant (the bestest), F&M cd launches at the fantastic Yellowhead Brewery, lunch dates (complete with the best nachos I've ever eaten) with amazingly beautiful souls, opening night Opera of Cavalleria Rusticana/I Pagliacci, late night loveliness with beauties and dapper (neck braces notwithstanding), copious amounts of red wine throughout the weekend's entirety, one a.m. trips to the emergency room (all is well and I was not the affected candidate but said candidate is fine) and, of course, Sunday's beautiful breezes and three brilliant cat naps. It was a great weekend!
To all of the beautiful people in my life, thanks for beautiful memories made this past weekend. You, each one, are amazing and I am an exceedingly lucky girl to know your dear hearts. Hugs, smooches and wine glass clinks.
And now, to blogging. Stay tuned!
